30 Week Update

So I think my last post was rather negative. I'm not going to lie, pregnancy really isn't my thing. I got pregnant for the end product (sweet baby girl!). Sure it's really fun to feel my baby growing but boy does it take a toll on your body...especially if you have a 4'11" frame.

Here I am at 30 weeks. 10 weeks to go!!!

I am officially have the largest belly in my birthing class and we all have due dates within two weeks of each other...sad story. Good news is I asked my doctor about it and I'm measuring just fine (30 weeks, 31 cm). I just have no where else for the poor baby to go but out. Which I suppose is better than up since she likes to lodge those cute little tootsies in my ribs.

So since I ranted about some of the "un-joyous" parts of pregnancy in my last post, I thought I would post about some products that have helped get me through.

I have a morning regimen. Every morning when I get out of the shower I use this stuff. Johnson's Baby Oil Gel. IT WORKS MAGIC FOR ITCHY STRETCHED OUT SKIN!

I used to use just baby oil in the morning but it's really runny and would bleed onto my clothes. Once I used up the bottle I thought I would give this baby oil gel a try. Don't get me wrong, it's quite thick and is still oil so you have to be careful not to get it on your clothes or in your hair. But because it's thicker it seems to last longer. I love it!

At the end of the day before I go to bed (and sometimes on my lunch break too) I use this lotion.

My skin is so silky smooth and this smells great too...not to mention my mum uses Jergens so everytime I use it I think of her. :)

I've been using this stuff on and off since high school. It's amazing and there really isn't much more to say about it. Even my brother uses it, we steal from each other when we're home on the holidays ;)

From the first trimester I've struggled with zits. I've never had issues with this before I got pregnant. I'm one of those fortunate ones but apparently pregnancy throws your skin for a loop. So I make sure to use this scrub a couple of times a week and it's really helped. Not to mention I've stopped touching my face... at all costs!

There's really nothing special about this specific brand (sorry Clean & Clear). My whole life I haven't really had to worry about moisturizing my skin... even since I've moved to the dry desert of UT. I haven't really had dry skin since I've been pregnant but I have had the zits, so I thought I would give this a try, it can't hurt and it has SPF which is good for my white white sunburn proned skin. And it's been great. I think coupled with the apricot scrub my face is rejoicing!

Let's talk heartburn. About the middle of my second trimester I was starting to get bad heartburn. I started to drink a HUGE glass of milk every morning. And amazingly enough, I don't get heartburn!!! Oh the magic! I've also noticed that when I forget, or don't have time, the heartburn comes back. As a result, Jared and I go through about 2 1/2 gallons of milk a week but let's look on the bright side. The milk is making baby strong (maybe even giving her bones the hopes of being taller than her mother), I'm not getting heartburn, and I'm making my bones stronger... win/win/win situation (It helps that milk is only about $1.50 a gallon).

Ok, let's be honest, this has nothing to do with the post. But remember when you were young and your parents always had the best snacks stocked up for your lunches and for when you got home from school. I miss that. The other day I was at the store grabbing a bagel for breakfast and I walked past these sweet little treats that my Mum used to get for us. They are so yummy! I've forgotten the goodness. If you haven't had these in a while I highly recommend them, plus they're so much better for you than a bag of cheetos ;)
