Bainbridge Island Adventures Part 2

On day three we went to my parent's other property where they have a copious amount of blackberry bushes and picked and picked blackberries.

So far this has been the most effective way of picking blackberries. Jared tosses a ladder into the bushes where it looks like we'll be able to gather the most crop. Then he cuts of branches with lots of berries.

He then brought those branches to Chloe and I and we just harvested our hearts out.

Mom came along for the fun but opted for the old fashioned way :)

When we got the berries all cleaned out we had about two bucket fulls of berries. I told Jared I would where the dinosaur apron if he'd be superman for a picture.... it came off as soon as the picture was over.

We made 3 batches of blackberry freezer jam and one delicious blackberry pie...mmmmm!

It was THAT good!

After making our treats we went boating with a good friend of mine from high school. The ocean is a bit colder and quite salty compared to the freshwater lakes of Utah but it was so beautiful and a ton of fun.

Jen's mom then introduced Jared to beer can chicken. If you haven't tried it, I highly recommend it. So yummy!!!!
