A Weekend in Boise

Well I made it back safe... and sadly back to real life and work. But this weekend was an absolute blast. My mom and I landed in Boise about an hour and a half apart, just enough time for her to check in to the hotel and then come back to pick me up. We stayed at the Hyatt and the room was perfect...except for just one thing. The only table that was in the room was 2' x 3' which really doesn't work when you planned on making cards all weekend. So it took 3 people until we found a kid that was working maintenance and talked him into getting us one of the conference tables they have downstairs. He was to our room in about 60 seconds and it was perfect...I wonder how many times he's done that before. Here are pictures of the room...Jared's always impressed with how much we spread ourselves out.

We completely covered the couch in stamp sets, punches and embellishments, then lined the table with all our ink pads, then covered one of the beds in ribbons, and then used our mini table for the paper cutter and scraps. Whew...we had a contest once we got to the airport to see who's bag weighed the most (Mom won at 45.5 lbs. and mine was 44 lbs. ALMOST over the limit of being charged). We popped out some way cute cards and I'll be posting them periodically on my other blog.
We had a great time catching up, going to the melting pot, making cards, walking through a rose garden in the park, and just having a plain old good time having a break from life. Too bad it had to come to an end...until next year!

  1. Katie,

I checked out the cards you have posted so far. They are of course amazing. I'm so jealous that you were so productive, and had fun too! The Melting Pot is on my list of restaurants to try. So glad you had so much fun with your Mom. Sorry about reality. I never left it, so it could be worse:)
