Halloween

Annie has this favorite nursery rhyme that my Mum taught her awhile back. It goes something like this:
Jumbo Elephant, Jumbo Elephant
You live in a great big zoo.
Jumbo Elephant, Jumbo Elephant
It's nice to be with you.

Jumbo Elephant, Jumbo Elephant
You have such a big long nose.
Jumbo Elephant, Jumbo Elephant
It reaches to your toes.

She requests this song almost ever single night. So it only seemed natural that she be an elephant for Halloween. She couldn't have been happier.

Riding the choo choo train

Jared's work put together a family Halloween party so Annie and decided to ride the train to go see Dad at work

cheese!
This girl loves her Daddy...and her fishies :)

Gardner Village Witchfest

I've always heard of Witchfest at Gardner Village and always wanted to go but never had the chance. Until this year. I decided Annie would probably get a kick out of it so we headed south for the afternoon. It was SUPER busy, but it was worth it.

Sitting next to the witch by herself was a bit much so I hopped in the picture with her with all my 9 1/2 month pregnant glory

no words can express how disgusted I am at this...

And because I couldn't end the post with such a sad picture of a dog, here is Annie looking as cute as ever in her Halloween leggings :)

Pumpkins!

Every year, our ward grows a garden. This year they included pumpkins into the crop so we decided to grab a couple. Annie got to choose her own and she was thrilled!

Annie was excited to help Jared carve out his pumpkin too!

Pumpkin Carving

I'm quite aware that I should have posted these weeks ago but life's kind of gotten away with me.

Annie was quite unsure about sticking her hand in the pumpkin goop...

But with a spoon in hand she had no problem at all!

Jared even took her trick or treating to a few houses. She kind of got the hang of knocking and was all about the candy (or tandy, and she calls it) but was most definitely ready for bed by the time she got back!

Bzzzzzz.......

My busy bumble bee!
I had this idea for her costume in my head for awhile now and since I'm too cheap to go buy something, I had to have something simple. I love how her costume turned out. Simple yet sweet!

 PIGGIE TAILS!!!!!
Easily my favorite part of this whole costume. I curled her pigtails out so they looked like antennae and make little mini korker bows to go in front of them...eeeeek!

As you can tell, Noah was quite fond of his bumble bee outfit (or really just the hood part was bugging him...ha, not pun intended). I just thought it was too fun that they were both bumble bees this year!

I wish I could have gotten a shot with all her cousins but in the chaos of the party, there was no way. I was able though to grab Lydia (or deeda as Annie calls her), and snap this picture. She's Smurfette!!!!!! I love it!!!

The Patch

So even though we received free pumpkins from my sister-in-law's fabulous garden, I still wanted to take Annie to a pumpkin patch so we could snap some fun pictures. My little photogenic princess couldn't have pleased me more.

Seconds after this photo was taken, she accidentally knocked the pumpkin off of the hay bale. She was so disappointed!

Patting the white pumpkin with Dad...

She thought this was the greatest. They had these HUGE crates full of different kinds of pumpkin and squash. Annie loved sitting on top of the pumpkins and piling them in her lap. She chose one and would not let it go!

Hitching a ride in a wagon...with her pumpkin in tow.

 Photo with Mommy!

We caved. But for 75 cents you can't beat the joy that little pumpkin brings to her...priceless!

Halloween

Is for cute outfits. I'm sure of it. Now, I don't have a boy, but I'm sure it just wouldn't be as fun.

My friend made this SUPER cute skirt for a couple of girls in my neighborhood. We've rocked it a couple of times.
P.S. her tights are purple (eeeek)!!!!!

Not to mention the fabulous matching hair clip I just HAD to make!
Not to mention this super cute Halloween shirt I found at carters for 60% off. I just couldn't resist that sparkly witch!

Just thought I would throw this in so you could get an idea at how many pictures I have to take in order to get a good one. She is constantly on the go and running!

Does anyone else give their children broken meaningless toys (in this case a broken birdie for bad-mitten) just to get a shot of them standing still?

Happy Halloween!!

So the only holiday I manage to decorate for (besides Christmas) is Halloween. I think it's too much fun to decorate my door all spooky. Unfortunately, Jared doesn't share my passion and since I work full time, then take over Annie when I get home from work, my front door has been neglected. I'm so sad, cause every year I have a little trick-or-treater tell me my door is sooo spooky but alas Jared wouldn't do it... humbug is all I hear from him around the holidays :(

But to make up for my sad site of a Halloween door, I do have this cute little bug to squeeze!

Not to mention this "I just couldn't help myself" photo op!

LOVE THESE SMILES!!!

Which was quickly followed by an "I want to eat the pumpkin" picture...gross Annie

We also made it to the Barnes Park Halloween Party this year with Jared's parents. Don't you just love their costumes. Rod is a towel joined by Annette who is a loofah, Lydia the clown, Annie the ladybug, Chase the dragon (not dinosaur, I was quickly corrected by the little tyke), Connor the pirate, and Spencer the Cowboy. No goofy commercial costumes... I love it!

Spider on Annie's head courtesy of Grandpa Rodney ;) Thanks for the fun time Grandpa & Grandpa!

I'm pretty sure I over exhausted this outfit but I made it and it's only wearable in October so I had no choice ;) I'm going to have to make her some more of these shoes very soon...Thanksgiving....Christmas...eeeek I love having a girl!
