Ponderosa State Park

At about six weeks old, Jared and I decided to brave it and take Sweat Pea on her first camping trip. We packed up the car (to the brim, I might add), and drove up to McCall, Idaho to camp for the week with my family at Ponderosa State Park. If you're looking for a good camp ground, we have found it! I highly recommend it. We had a blast. Here are some of the highlights!

Bumpa and Sweet Pea enjoying the fireside.

Quality daddy/daughter time in the hammock...notice Jared's walking boot. He was supposed to get his cast off while we were on our camping trip. So he decided he would just cut it off himself and borrow a walking boot from some friends...

And to push the envelope further, decided he needed to go for a swim...without the boot.

Jared trying his hand (or rather arm) at nursing. This resulted in a rather amusing hickey...Annie wasn't amused.

Meeting cousin Kyra and Bodie for the first time...asleep.

Meeting Uncle Drew! This picture was mid-sneeze...

Meeting Aunt Jillian and making funny faces!

Cousin Charlotte was so excited to be around Baby Annie.

Modeling our bathing suit for the first time! If the real models can wear high heels with their bathing suits than Annie is perfectly justified wearing flowers in her hair with her swimmer!

All the grandbabies on my side of the family!

Since Jared broke his ankle, flotation devices were a must

Charlie stealing the show. LOVE the ruffle bum on her swimmin' suit!

Sleeping beauty

Jared decided she needed to go for a float

And then a swim... she wasn't thrilled with the idea.

Gold Fork Hot Springs. They have 5 different pools here. The top one is at about 110 degrees and the bottom one about 80 (I think). It was so refreshing after a week of camping.

Mum, Dad, and Chloe in the lower pool.

There's no better way to end the trip than a large breakfast at the pancake house. This is a picture of the massive cinnamon roll that we shared. My dad and I shared a pancake, which was literally larger than Annie!

Overall, the trip was a huge success. We got to introduce Annie to all but one of my brother's and she was perfect the whole time. She slept just as she would have if we had her at home. We just set up a bunch of blankets in a laundry basket in our tent. It was so nice to spend some time with my family, we can't wait to see them again soon!

  1. I love McCall. I actually passed through there last week, too bad I didn't know you were there:) The best time to take kids on a trip is when they are babies. They usually ride in the car great and can sleep where ever. It gets harder as they get older:) Glad you had a ton of fun.

  3. I cannot believe you went camping. Well, I don't like camping at all so maybe I think it's crazier with a babe :) Soph wears bows all the time swimming! It's totally normal!
