About a year ago I decided that I wanted to start a tradition of my own. I decided that for every grandchild on my side of the family, I would make them a quilt ( I would have included Jared's side but there are already 11 grandkids on his side and that is just too overwhelming). This Thanksgiving I finally got around to taking pictures of the quilts and the girls with them. Chloe's quilt was supposed to be a log cabin quilt but after cutting the pieces I realized how beginner I was to quilting and had to make up some of the patterns myself...but you get the idea, atleast it turned out square and she loves it!

It was fun making Chloe's quilt because I could make it girly. When it came time to make Charlotte's quilt, Drew and Jillian decided to not find out what gender she was until she was born. This killed me! So instead of making a cute pink or blue quilt for her, I opted for red, black, and white since that's pretty gender friendly. I ended up loving it and it matches the rest of her room and bedding too!

  1. You are so talented. I can't believe how darling all those quilts are. I have yet to make an entire quilt on my own. Ya, it's on the fabulous fifty list- 50 things I want to do before I'm 50. It's closer than I want to think about!
